Dhanwantari Ayurveda College Hospital and Research Center was established in the year 1998. At the initial stage, this medical college has an overall strength of 3 members. Since then, it has paved its own path and turned out to be a successful institute. Now it is providing the finest education to around 100 students for BAMS admission.  

Dhanwantari Ayurveda College is affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka, and recognized by the Central Council of Indian Medicine, New Delhi, Government of Karnataka, and Department of Ayush, Government of India.

Dhanwantari Ayurveda College Hospital and Research Center is one of the finest and top medical colleges in India and it is one and only medical college in Uttara Kannada. The main intention of this college is to impart the knowledge of Ayurvedic Science to the next generations in order to make them aware of the need and necessity of good health. As this is the only Medical College in that entire area, this college has decided to impart the best form of education to the whole Area. The college strives to inculcate the better parts of ancient Ayurveda by mixing it with modern Medicine. Dhanwantari settled in a peaceful environment in the nearest habitat of Sahyadris is as peaceful as its name. An interesting thing about this Sahyadris is that many of the famous medical herbs and shrubs are from these Sahyadri hills.

Along with Undergraduate courses, DACH provides education at Post Graduate level too. The only two branches that are available here to pursue post-graduation are Panchakarma and Kayachikitsa. Each domain consists of 6 students. This college has never failed to train its students in reaching the best position at their academic level.

The college management is using its research center to its maximum level to teach the students novel and genith things. Some of the most important things the research wing of this college concentrates on is the present environmental problems and their solution through ayurveda. This college has even started a unique scheme called “SAMEEKSHA”, as a part of which bimonthly magazines are being released from the college management comprising of the happenings and achievements of college.

This college is sprawled over a large area with a huge campus that includes a hospital, research lab, separate hostel for boys and girls, canteen, Auditorium, herbal garden, and playground with sufficient space. Teaching methods in this college are so updated that they use audio-visual technology to teach the students. The college has a library which contains plenty of books related to academics which are very helpful for the students to improve their knowledge on the subject. This library does even contain journals, articles, and many other things that are considered a very important thing for the enrichment of a student.
